DELUSIONS OF GRANDEUR EP42:
THE NIGHT IS YOUNG

1999
TRT: 29:36
Premiere: Nov 17, 1999
Interview/Comedy
TVR: 1

Presenting Warren's movie of the same name, this episode features a 'special interview'. Alan, playing the 'disco pimp', brings on creative genius Warren, dressed up in strange goth gear. Warren launches into a rant about how tough it was to finish the movie, with all the cast and technical problems he really did have. Alan threatens to smack Warren for being so down on things, and plays the movie.

 COMMENTARY

I do like this one, even though it's definitely not that well-known. Warren did a good job writing it, the costumes were nice (disco pimp... heh), and it's a good example of our usual taping at 4AM silliness. Joe actually made sort of an homage to this episode in the special interview for his movie Odd Noggins, which was pretty cool.

 CUTTING ROOM FLOOR
  • This episode was originally attempted in our usual impromptu style, but didn't work out so well. The Disco Pimp also interviewed Renee, who played a part in The Night is Young, in that version.
