This one opens with Alan in his office, typing away on his computer. Unfortunately, the computer crashes, losing the episode in the process. Alan is suddenly forced to fill time, and does so by breaking out a 'severed hand' that's supposed to grow in water (like those foam dinosaurs). He puts it in the water, ready for the excitement. As it sits there, Alan realizes that he has to wait five hours for it to grow. To make up for it, he plays trailers for all of the Star Wars movies, including a Revenge of the Jedi trailer and the Epiosde 1 trailer (the day it was released, even).

COMMENTARY

This one is probably one of the most underrated episodes - people now vaguely remember it. But the severed hand (actually a present from KShawn) was a really good gimmick, and supposedly the 'comic timing' in the episode is really good. And if that's not enough, there's Star Wars trailers...-Alan Winston

ON-SET DISASTERS

The package said the hand was supposed to grow full-sized in five hours or less. We gave up after seven and left it in the office. It took a week for it to finally get as big as it was supposed to.
